Building and Remodeling from Ellsworth to the Blue Hill Peninsula

Generations Custom Homes is a Hancock County home builder and remodeler. We are based in Ellsworth and build new homes, additions and renovations in Ellsworth, Blue Hill, Surry, Brooklin, Castine, Trenton and Lamoine. We have been building since 2002.

Home base

Ellsworth is where we work from. Our shop is here and our crew lives nearby. Blue Hill, Castine and Brooklin are about 30 to 45 minutes away, so site visits are easy and a problem on a job gets a quick answer.

Ellsworth and Lamoine

Closest to the shop, we build and renovate homes in and around town. The Lewis Duplex in Ellsworth is a new building with two units and ZIP System sheathing. A second Ellsworth build has two apartments set up as home-share units near shopping and a short drive to Mount Desert Island. Our Lamoine House is a four-bedroom colonial style home with a wraparound porch, a stone fireplace and a large garage.

Blue Hill, Surry, Brooklin and Castine

The peninsula has waterfront lots, older farmhouses and homes that need care. Our Little Blue Hill House addition in Blue Hill saved hand-hewn timbers from a turn-of-the-century barn and used them as beams, doors and trim. For peninsula work we plan for shoreline wind and long driveways. Wells and septic systems are handled with trusted vendors we work with, so they fit your site.

Trenton

Trenton is the gateway to Mount Desert Island. Our Bayside Cabin is a Trenton build: a compact, single-story coastal home designed for Maine winters. See our Mount Desert Island page for island projects.

Yes. Our Rescue Project restored a home after earlier work left it in disrepair.
